We spent a week in Island Park, Idaho, just 22 miles outside of West Yellowstone at a family reunion with my mom's family. All but one of my 9 cousins (as well as my 3 siblings), and their families were there. We went on a river rafting trip, a scavenger hunt, had a duckie floating race down the crick, had a talent show, the kids fished, we visited, and ate great food. Besides mothball smelling and mouse infested cabin with kids waking up each other and crying all night long, we had a great time!
Tyson loved this cowboy hat he found and wore it all day one day. He hung out with two of my cousins' kids Benson and Benjamin. They even slept one night on their own in a tiny bunkhouse called 'the dollhouse', which they preferred calling their 'dorm room'.
Bradley had only girls his age, but didn't seem to mind. They kept busy throwing things in the crick and running from bridge to bridge catching them.

The girls took a day to go shopping in West, a tradition. Kate got a turquoise ring like I always did as a kid. She loved these sunglasses.
We also spent a day in the park. We saw Bison, elk, bald eagles, a coyote, and other birds.

This is my favorite picture. I think it is the most beautiful thing I have ever seen. We stood atop a waterfall, which created the rainbow and stared up the winding canyon with the river running through. Breathtaking.

While the girls were at West, the guys went back to go swimming in Yellowstone. They ended up rescuing 12 and 15 year-old boys and their father from this waterfall. You can read the whole accout by my dad, Tom Hoyle, at http://www.yellowstone-online.com/eclecticworld.html. It was pretty amazing.
We went back the next day so I could see what they told us about. Here they are reinacting the rescue.
