Derby Day

Bradley got first place in the bear den and 5th overall in the pinewood derby this year. He also got an award for the 'best body' because of his great style.

He called it the 'black banged-up derby car' because of the crazy paint job. It was the combined efforts of Bradley as design, Grandpa in cutting, Mom in paint, and Dad in weight distribution, and Bradley in graphite application (sounds like Bradley did most of the work-wink!)

Bradley becomes a Bear

There are advantages to being short. Bradley won!

Bradley got his Wolf at the Blue and Gold Banquet in March.

And it was my debut as a Scout Leader. Lovin' that yellow shirt!

Way to go Bradley!

Hanging with Cousins

After celebrating Bradley's birthday at Red Robin (as evidenced by the giant chocolate syrup stains on his white shirt) the cousins came to hang out, literally. Woo hoo, no hands! She might be a girl, 6 months older and taller, but Bradley loves his cousin, Emily.

Sixth Soccer Season!

Bradley played soccer for his 6th year! He scored a goal in the jamboree. I think his best position is midfielder, he has the energy to run the whole game and is not afraid of the ball or the other players. He is very aggressive and does well at turning the ball around. And after all these years and hundreds of pictures, I actually captured a pretty cool one, which is tough to do in soccer. Great season Bradley.

Bradley Plays Baseball

Bradley is enjoying this season of Kent Parks Coach Pitch Baseball, being one of the star players (many of them are younger or have not played before). Bradley has a great swing and knows what to do when he plays the infield. He had two great hits at his game this weekend.

GO BRADLEY!

Bradley's Big Baptism

Bradley was baptized and confirmed a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints on March, 27, 2010. He was baptized at the same time as another classmate, Rachel. It was a nice service. His uncle Brian gave a great talk on the Gift of the Holy Ghost that he related to his GPS.

Afterwards, we had friends and family over for soup, salad, and dessert. It turned out the be a sunny day in March, though originally forecasted at 80% chance of rain. Instead we actually used the deck/yard which was great since there were over 40 people at the house!
Thanks to all who attended and made it a special day for him. We are so proud of you Bradley. You're really growing up.

Big 8 Bradley

Bradley turned 8 on MARCH 9TH. He recently gave a poem during a school assembly for their virtue of the month, it was on Honesty.

Hanging out in the temporary playhouse (dishwasher box, courtesy of a friend).

We had a birthday party Monday night with Grandma and Grandpa Hoyle and the Hatch kids (their parents were on a cruise.)
He got CASH.... always a favorite gift. As well as two video games, scout stuff, baseballs, and a racetrack.
Kate was equally as excited...
On Bradley's actual birthday, he, Tyson, Rick, and I all went skiing at Crystal Mountain. It was Bradley's 2nd time. We took him on the real lifts and he did great. He was on and off the lift and up and down the mountain like a pro. It was really fun. Tyson is a great skier too. We had a great day. Thanks for watching the kids Mom.

All I Want for Christmas is my Two Front Teeth

Bradley lost both of his top two teeth in October, just in time to sing him, "All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth!" I thought it was cute. He said "I know I'm getting more than that." Stinker.

Final Moments of Summer Fun

The snails were out one night, more than we've ever seen. Bradley, Kate and Jeff caught 14 easily. They had a great adventure in the dark. Luckily we snapped a few pictures, because by morning they were all gone, but not forgotten.

Kate recently learned how to write her name, and thus is autographing everything. This being our cooler.
I let her play in the van one day during a baseball game and when I got back in she had written 'mom' on the steering wheel. Great. When I inquired she replied, "well, it's yours." What could I do but laugh (to myself of course, as to not give permission for future misdeeds).

It was a summer of nighboorhood hot tubing. All the boys would throw on a suit and go from tub to tramp, back a forth. It was great to keep them active and busy.

Then there was the afternoon that Bradley let Kate do his hair. It was actually quite cute. I'm sure he'll love this picture in 10 years!
It was definately time for the Kent School District Teachers Strike to be over. Get these kids in school!

Little Slugger

Bradley may be small, but he a good little slugger this year. It is his first year on 'coach pitch' baseball. He loves hitting. It's fun to watch him because you can see how hungry he is for that ball.

Happy 7th Birthday Bradley!

This was the scene as Bradley went to school on the morning of his birthday! The boys kept saying, "are you SURE school is not delayed?"

The Hatch's came over for Sunday dinner to celebrate with Bradley.
On Friday, there was no school so we had a party with his friends. He loved all of the gifts... He even told each one of his friends that he loved them after he opened their gift. There was a lot of love at his party.

We had ice cream cone cupcakes filled with gumballs. We took the kids to Chuck E Cheese. I didn't get very many good pictures because they couldn't stay still for a second.

You're growing up Bradley! We love you.

Best Christmas Present Ever!

You know how you spend all of this time and money buying Christmas presents and the novelty has usually worn off before school even starts back up? So you put the toy in a bin and store it for a few years because you just spent a bunch of money on it, but it's hardly ever played with again? That is the usual story at our house (unless is just the right video game). Not this year. For once we got it right. Bradley got the ODYSSEY III globe by leapfrog and I'm telling you, it's awesome. He plays it everyday (and it's almost March!). I've seen him laying down in bed at night playing it. It has several categories that it will give information about different countries/continents and games for up to four players. Bradley can find 18 continents/oceans in 45 seconds.
My favorite part is that he has started to apply what he's learned. One day he was looking at something that said it was made in Korea. He said "was that North Korea or South Korea?" Last week while we were reading the Book of Mormon it referred to the Red Sea. He said "I know where that is, it's by Egypt."

It's a great toy for kids and adults, check it out.

Priceless...

A note from Bradley that I received a few Sundays ago.
Just one of those rare priceless notes that I didn't want to get thrown by the wayside, but forever preserved so that I can show it to him during those fun teenage years that lie ahead.

(The back just had the date, just incase anyone was wondering.) What a sweetie Bradley can be.

Our Soccer Stud

I haven't been to the last few games, but apparently Bradley has become quite an aggressive soccer player. The last few years he hasn't wanted anyone to watch him play, but this year he's doing great and loving it. It's fun to see him excel and enjoy what he's doing.

Bradley did comment to me that he does want to keep playing baseball though, because otherwise he would have too many soccer trophies.

Tooth Fairy's Visit

The Tooth Fairy made a visit at our house about a month ago when Bradley lost his first tooth. It's very adorable. Bradley was very excited about the Tooth Fairy's visit when he heard there was money involved. After pondering it for a while one day he commented "Wow, the Tooth Fairy must be rich, I wonder where she gets all of her money!?"
